Dear People Pleaser,
Caring for and about what others think is a real pain in the neck and a stealer of joy.
You have been doing it your whole life. It is time to STOP. Take it from me a reformed people-pleaser. I was taught by the words of the adults in my early life, “What do the neighbors say?” “What will the church people say?”
Dear church girl,
Caring what the elders will think if you do X, Y, or Z is crippling! Stop it! It is time to get dusted from that line of thinking. Stop stifling yourself.
As a former church girl people pleaser, I continue to shed the people-pleasing with a new word Japanese word (I learned in Japan).
Here is the word:
SHOGANAI—
it means,
It is what it is;
It can’t be helped!
It’s a philosophy that says not to dwell on things we cannot change.
Instead, we press on to do our best. Adopt a positive attitude and cation. Then, do our best in the situations over which we have no control.
Take it and use it. It is yours.
You’re welcome!
